“Tinseltown” Auditions: Sunday, September 13th – Casting ages 5-18!
Be a part of SCMT’s youth holiday show “Tinseltown”. This all new youth theater production features scripted sketches and musical numbers from your favorite holiday movies and classic Christmas TV specials.
Sing, dance and act in this fun and festive musical revue celebrating the most wonderful time of the year!
Our inclusive program accepts all youth who audition. SCMT fosters diversity and inclusion and no experience is required.
SCMT’s convenient program with only one rehearsal per week on Sundays at Howe Park makes participation fun and easy for busy families.
Sunday rehearsals take place from 12:30-6:00pm, and cast members meet for 75 minutes within this time frame, (specifics to be determined when cast.) Younger cast members tend to rehearse in the first hour of rehearsal. Cast members looking to appear in additional performance opportunities may opt to attend a few optional Wednesday rehearsals occurring between 5:00-7:30pm.
Cost: The participation fee is $345 per child (includes a $20 refundable costume deposit.) $25 discount per additional sibling.
The participation fee includes all rehearsal materials and a show t-shirt. In addition to the participation fee, families are responsible for purchasing dance shoes and selling tickets to the performances that take place at Rosemont High School.

Sunday Rehearsals at Howe Park:
September 20th, 27th
October 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th
November 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd (No rehearsal Nov 29th)
Cast members are allowed to miss two pre-noted rehearsals.
Tech week & performances at Rosemont High School: November 30th – December 6th (Times TBA)
How to prepare to audition:
1. Sign up online to attend auditions.
2. Please stop in during your age time slot and plan to stay for about an hour. If you have children in different age groups auditioning, they may audition together at the same time slot.
3. Please prepare to sing sixteen bars (around thirty seconds) of any song (without music). Select a dynamic song that really shows off your personality and pipes. If your child is not comfortable singing at auditions, we can have them skip the singing portion of the audition and recite “Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to “Tinseltown”
4. Bring a photo with you. A snapshot or print-out of a photo will help us remember you when it comes to casting.
5. Relax and get ready to have a lot of fun! We strive to make our program fun, inclusive and low pressure.
